COST OF LESSONS

As of January 2009, lesson fees are as follows:

LESSONS

$20 – 30 minute lesson in my studio.

$35 – 55 minute lesson in my studio.

* There is a possibility for occasional lessons with an accompanist for an additional charge.  This would be most helpful for students preparing pieces for auditions or competitions.

OTHER FEES

Students will be encouraged to purchase music, attend performances, and perhaps observe and participate in master classes or recitals. Fees may be associated with all of the above. Students will never be billed for any item or service that they have not agreed to purchase.

These rates are guaranteed for one year (until January 2008). After one year, the instructor reserves the right to adjust fees based on the current market and changing circumstances. The instructor will give at least three months' notice for changing rates to current students.

PURCHASE AND PAYMENT

There will be one free 30-minute trial lesson to meet and discuss policies. After the trial period, lessons must be purchased monthly. All fees must be paid in full before lessons will be given. Checks may be made out to Genevieve Baglio.

DISCOUNTS

As of January 2007, one free lesson will be credited to students who recommend another student to me, so long as the recommended student studies for at least one month.

CANCELLATIONS

The instructor will do everything possible to schedule lessons without conflicts. When conflicts are unavoidable and the instructor must cancel, the lesson will be made up or credited to the next month.  Your time is important, and every effort will be made to make up missed lessons in a timely manner.

Students may cancel a lesson for any reason and a make-up lesson will be given if 24 hours' notice is given to the instructor. Generally, if a lesson is canceled without 24 hours of notice before the scheduled lesson time, the student is not eligible for a make-up lesson. Emergencies will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis but will not include such reasons as:

-         I forgot

-         I’m too busy today

-         I accidentally scheduled something else

-         I’m sick – (You may, and should cancel your lesson if you are sick – but at least 24 hours notice is still required.)

No refunds are given for any reason.

PREPARATION

Students are expected to come to their lessons prepared. This will mean different things for each student. This will always include coming to lessons with all of your materials including assigned music and a pencil. In the rare case that a student leaves their music behind or does not complete the preparation asked, the instructor reserves the right to end the lesson early.

CONTACT INFORMATION

It is very important that the instructor have updated contact information for each student, including telephone number, a mailing address, and an email address. Please notify the instructor of any changes in this information.

CONTRACT

All students (and a parent or guardian of students under the age of 18) are required to sign a contract stating that they have read and that they agree to the above policy.
